Clyde House Booking Terms and Conditions


All bookings with Clyde House (regardless of the method chosen) are subject to the following terms and conditions. By confirming a booking with us, you and all guests in your party accept these terms and conditions

Deposit and Payments

We accept most major credit and debit cards as well as cash payments.

We require your credit or debit card details in order to secure your reservation. We will send you a written confirmation (via email or by post) of your booking on receipt of these details.

Cancellation Policy

Please remember that when you confirm your accommodation booking you are entering into a legal contract. If you alter your travel plans, please advise Clyde House immediately, whereupon the booking can be cancelled by mutual agreement. If an agreement is not possible, Clyde House is entitled to claim compensation for failure to fulfill the booking.

Cancellation must be made by 6.00pm, three days prior to the arrival date, after which time bookings will be subject to 100% of the accommodation tariff being charged for the duration of your booking.

We recommend when booking any accommodation, holiday insurance is taken out.

Check In

On the day of your arrival we shall be delighted to welcome you after 3pm, if you would like to arrive earlier, please call. We understand that the unexpected occurs when travelling, particularly long distance. If you find that due to unforeseen circumstances that you are likely to arrive after 7pm, please call us to update us with your expected time of arrival.

Check Out

Check out time is 10:30am; if you require assistance with your luggage please ask.


Breakfast is served in the dining room between 8am and 9.15am each morning.

Smoking Policy

Smoking, including electronic cigarettes and other smoking devices, is not permitted within any of the rooms in Clyde House, but our guests are welcome to use the garden.

If guests are found to have been smoking in any of our rooms, then we will charge an additional cleaning fee of £200.

Damages and Breakages

In the event of damage to the property, we reserve the right to make a charge to replace, repair or professionally clean the item(s) concerned.

There will be a charge of £15.00 for lost keys.


Clyde House is unable to offer private parking facilities, fortunately Railway Street is two-way, so guests are able to park outside the guesthouse for unloading and we will direct you to the nearest car park. There is parking in Leyburn square, which is run by voluntary donation.

Facilities Available

Clyde House is gas central heated, you can control the heating in your room by adjusting the graduated control knob on the radiator. There is an extra blanket in the top of your wardrobe.

There is a free Wi-Fi facility available for our guests. This can be enjoyed from the privacy of the guests bedrooms but also from the comfort of the guest lounge where there is also a selection of reading materials, board games and information about local attractions.

If you require an iron and ironing board please ask. We can provide boot trays for our guests use and any wet over garments can be dried in our utility room. Hairdryers are provided in each room, there is also a hand torch in case of a power cut.


In the unlikely event that we are forced to cancel your booking due to circumstances beyond our control, we will attempt to offer you alternative accommodation. If suitable accommodation is not available or unacceptable to you then you will not be liable for any further payments to us. Compensation, expenses costs or other sums of any description will not be paid in such circumstances.

We do not accept any liability for damage to your property or injury to you (or any other members of your party) whilst on our premises, unless caused by the negligence by us.


Any data collected as a result of your booking will be stored in accordance with the provisions of current Data Protection legislation.
